Terms of Service & Community Guidelines

Last updated October 11, 2026. Please read these Terms carefully — they include disclaimers, limitations of liability and dispute-resolution provisions.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Wider website, apps and services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes in the app or by email; continuing to use the Service after an update takes effect means you accept it.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding contract. You may not use the Service if you have previously been banned from it.

You agree to provide accurate, current information and are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. One account per person; accounts may not be sold or transferred.

3. What the Service is for

Wider is a technology platform that helps people find partners for activities, sports, hobbies, study, work, travel and volunteering, and communicate and coordinate inside the app.

Wider is not the organizer of any activity and is not an agent, employer or guarantor of any user, venue or event. We do not verify users’ identity, background or qualifications unless explicitly stated.

4. Prohibited conduct

You must not: (a) engage in any dating, romantic or sexual solicitation or suggestive content, however phrased; (b) share phone numbers, emails, links or other-app accounts with members; (c) post illegal, violent, hateful, discriminatory or abusive content; (d) harass, threaten, stalk or bully anyone; (e) commit fraud, impersonate others, send spam or unauthorized advertising; (f) exploit minors in any way; (g) sell or promote drugs, weapons or any prohibited goods or services; (h) scrape user data, hack, disrupt or circumvent the Service’s security; (i) infringe anyone’s intellectual property or privacy.

Violations may result in content being blocked, account suspension or permanent removal, and reporting to the competent authorities where appropriate.

5. Real-world activities and assumption of risk

Any meeting or activity between users happens entirely at their own risk. Physical activities, sports and travel carry inherent risks that may include injury, illness, property damage or death. You acknowledge that you voluntarily assume all such risks yourself.

You alone are responsible for assessing your fitness, the suitability of an activity, and the safety of venues and people. Always meet in public places, tell someone you trust about your plans, and follow venue rules and local laws. Wider is not responsible for the conduct of any user, on or off the Service, or for any dispute or payment between users or with third parties.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you send or post. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, process, copy, display and transmit that content as needed to operate, improve and protect the Service.

You confirm you have the rights to what you post and that it does not violate law or others’ rights. We may remove any content we consider in breach without prior notice; we are not obliged to monitor content but reserve the right to do so.

7. Safety scanning and moderation

You agree that messages, images and posts pass through automated checks and AI tools to block prohibited content and protect the community. A message may be blocked before it is sent. You can appeal a mistaken block, but appeals do not override prohibited categories. Our trained staff may review relevant content when a report is filed or to investigate a violation.

8. AI features

Wider AI activity-partner suggestions and summaries are generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are guidance only and are not a guarantee of any person’s identity, behavior or suitability, or of any activity’s safety. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions. Nothing is published on your behalf without your explicit consent.

9. Intellectual property

The Service and the Wider name, logo, design, software and content (excluding user content) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service under these Terms. Copying, modifying, reverse-engineering or commercial use without written permission is prohibited.

10. Third-party services

The Service may include maps, venues, links or services provided by third parties. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices; your use of them is governed by their own terms.

11. Paid features

The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid features, they will be subject to terms and prices clearly shown before purchase and to the refund policy published at that time.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee suggested partners, attendance by anyone, or the quality of any activity, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wider and its owners, directors, employees and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of profits, data or goodwill, or any bodily injury or damage arising from meetings or activities between users or from any user’s conduct.

Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD 100. Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Wider and its owners, employees and partners from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your participation in any activity, or your breach of these Terms, the law or third-party rights.

15. Suspension and termination

We may restrict, suspend or terminate your account or remove your content at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you breached these Terms, put others or the Service at risk, or where required by law. You may stop using the Service or request deactivation or deletion of your account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law — survive termination.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. Before taking formal action, you agree to contact us at legal@joinwider.com and try to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days. The courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute not resolved informally, unless mandatory consumer law in your country gives you other rights. Claims may be brought only individually and not as part of a class or collective action, to the extent permitted by law.

17. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in a merger or acquisition. If the Arabic and English versions conflict, the English version prevails.
